Upcycled Gift Giving

Want to shake things up this holiday season? How about giving UGLY sweaters new homes. And not just for that annual ugly Christmas sweater party you never quite remember going to.

Speaking of holiday parties... I'm heading to Montreal for the festivities until the new year and I simply CANNOT wait. I love putting up Christmas lights, throwing snowballs for Echo (her energy would give the energizer bunny a run for it's money, literally), and lounging in sweats for too many days in a row. Who's with me?

Ok back to ugly Christmas sweaters. Julia Grieve has a light that shines bright and a vision that deserves to be celebrated. She founded Preloved in 1995 and has never looked back; the company focuses on creating collections where there's a little bit of vintage in each piece. With a keen sense for fashion from her days as an international model and a big believer in recycling old garments , the combination makes for runway-ready designs that are made for the every day woman.

I'm still amazed at how she turns atrocious knits into cute mittens/blankets/sweaters/scarves/pillows. Check out the video below to witness the magic!
