Long & Lean
Disclaimer. I am NOT graceful. Not even a little bit; back in the day my mother tried to put me in dance class (bless her heart) and I always wound up in the back row during recitals... And then there was my mammie who was a beautiful and elegant cabaret dancer, who moved with such fluidity even when she did something as simple as walking, it looked like she was floating. Into her 80s she could still touch her toes and do the "can-can."
So when my producer pitched a barre-style fitness story, you can imagine I was a little apprehensive... Could someone with two left feet successfully do a barre class? Could someone who giggles more than anything take a class as serious as ballet-inspired?
The answer is YES. Take a look at our video!
Once the shoot was done for E!, I stuck around and did a proper 1 hour session alongside other Toronto industry people and it's safe to say that barre kicked our ass. Those tiny little movements target muscles with such intensity that I had to take a few moments to let the burn let up. Overall, it was a great workout and I'll get my booty into another barre class pronto.
