What's your gig behind the lens?

Behind the lens I get the pleasure of beautifying some of the most rad people in the industry. If I am not getting talent camera ready, I am teaching our future make-up artists techniques and skills of the trade while kicking ass and being  NICE to everyone…Because reality is...It’s a very small industry!

What's a typical work day like?

Typical day for me would be waking up at 245am J getting into work, setting up my station and prepping for the day. Each day is different and can depend on what’s going on in the building. A typical busy day allows me have talent from E!, ETALK, and CP24 come through getting them ready for the camera allowing them to feel confident for their day! I feel so blessed and am very grateful that my job allows me to hang out with super cool people! It sometimes doesn’t even feel like work :)

Most famous face you've done?

I would have to say my most recent visit to the Bieber residence was my most famous face I’ve worked with. They were shooting family portraits and I did the make-up for the whole FAM!! Was probably one of the best days ever!

Favourite beauty product?

MAC Zoomfast Black Lash and a wicked moisturizer. My pick is Prevage Day Intensive Anti-Aging Moisture Cream Spf 30

What celebs and make-up artists do you look to for inspiration?

Luckily for Social Media I can really have a strong grasp on so many of my favourite makeup artists in the industry. I feel like I discover a new artist every day via Instagram. It would be so hard to pick just one but I really appreciate Ania Milczarczyk who is based in Australia and Lauren Anderson who is based in LA. Both artists portray a very similar vibe as me and really focus on just highlighting their talents beauty, not covering it all up! My most admired celebs would have to be Sienna Miller and Diane Kruger! I Love how effortless they look but absolutely striking at the same time- and their make-up is always so soft and natural. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Winter beauty trends?

Some awesome trends kicking off 2016 I think is radiant skin. It differs a bit from dewy skin and I think most people get the two confused. With radiant skin you want to perfect your base with a really hydrating foundation- as opposed to having shine on the cheeks, highlight, etc. of the face. This helps with any dryness we experience throughout the cold, bitter, windy winter! Leaving the skin looking even and flawless. Another hot trend I’m really into doing on my clients is smoking out the eye by really underlying the eye and inner water line with a black wax base pencil. The wax base will prevent the product from falling and looking messy! It’s an easy effortless way to really spice up your look!

Who would you love to do make-up on?

This is a very hard question for me J My list goes on and on and on…But if I had to pick a few top celebs my choices would be: Kendall Jenner, Amy Schumer, and Taylor Hill. Kendall and Taylor because of how striking their features are and Amy because she would probably be the most hilarious client ever!!

How important is it to have the right brushes?

Having the right brushes is extremely crucial. I always tell my students that you can’t build a house with mediocre tools…Well the same applies for building a beautiful canvas!! The difference a good set of brushes can do while applying product is night and day!!! TRUST ME! ***Also make sure you cleanse your personal set at least once a week with a good cleansing shampoo or brush cleaner!

Brows or lips?

Oooo this is a hard one but I am going to go with Brows!! Brows shape the whole face!

You can't leave the house without....

Have you ever seen a makeup artist bag…??? I never leave the house without anything LOL I have everything in there!! My main thing would probably be lipgloss, nail filer and my headphones!!! A dope song is always a great way to start your day!
